I am one of the only female drivers working at this store and I am being discriminated against by my employer. My hours have been cut down from 20 hours a week to 7 hours a week to facilitate male preference in scheduling drivers. I have been asking for more hours as a driver for months. My boss responded by hiring new drivers, men, and giving them almost 40 hours a week and in the same breath tells me there are not a lot of hours to go around". Many male drivers are scheduled 40 hours a week/. My hours were given to a male driver who was once a shift leader so that he is scheduled 40 hours or more a week and my hours were also given to newly hired male drivers who are also scheduled for almost 40 hours a week?. This is sexist discrimination!. I have worked at MLK Jimmy Johns since 3/2009 as a driver?. I have never received a raise". I have never been given any breaks that are required by law?. I have never been reprimanded or written up'. I am a good employee, I just am not male...that appears to be the problem. Why is my boss, Clay, a man, not taking hours from other male driver employees, even those who have worked there for less than 1 year and work almost 40 hours a week as drivers? Why is he not giving male hours to male drivers so they can all work 40 hours a week and I can work 7 hours a week and be sent home early? This is discrimination and I am very hurt! I put up with a lot of lude sexist comments as it is. I am 32 years old. I deserve some respect! 128d8bc

There you go. The reason you are not giving hours is because you cannot handle the house. You were written up for poor preformance. It has nothing to do with your being female. When you do your job as you should you will get respect.

They dont usually deliver in cars they deliver on bikes. And this person was complaining about SEXISM, obviously male drivers have had raises before or she wouldnt think it was sexist.

I work at JJs too, as an inshopper and Im 20. FYI a lot of older people work there while they pursue more artistic endeavors. Not to mention you should never criticize somebody for having a job. And actually, in case nobody told you, everybody deserves respect. The regional manager is the sexist one too, by the way. Moron.

Also - Jimmy Johns doesn't give raises. In fact, in 2011 anyone that made over 8.00 an hour as an shopper got a pay cut to 8 and can never get higher. Any driver that made over min wage, got cut.

Its a corporation not some small local business, its corrupt and complicated and people get fired when they say stuff.

So get some perspective, and have some respect.

No one that's 32 and still working as a delivery driver at Jimmy Johns deserves any respect, male or female.

I don't know of any tipped jobs that get raises.

Seriously, stop complaining.

Get a better job...

Also -- you're a driver. Every time you DRIVE is a break.

Geez, come on. If you didn't get a raise at one year, why didn't you complain to the regional manager? Quit whining about sexual discrimination and DO SOMETHING about it.
